ABOUT ME
Hi everyone,
I am graduate student in the Department of World Languages and Cutlures at Georgia State University. I am in my 4th semester of the French MA program, with a concentration in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition. If everything goes as planned, I will be graduating December 2015.
When I first entered the program, I served as a French tutor in the Georgia State Language Lab. This experience gave me a lot of insight on what students go through after the class is over. Working as a tutor helped me understand students better and helped me when I became an instructor myself.
I now work as a French graduate teaching assistant and I learn something new everyday, about language learners, about language teaching or even about myself.
Along with tutoring and teaching, I have also been assisting Dr Garrett-Rucks with her research on Second Language Acquisition for about two years now. Being involved in her research helped me develop a deep interest in SLA research especially in Global Competence and understanding the target language community through the use of authentic texts such as comic books.
